The University of Twente is at the core of society and has an outward-looking perspective. Strategic Business Development supports the UT community in connecting our excellent research to external needs.
Working together with companies is an essential component of this. After all, today’s students are tomorrow’s professionals. The university maintains intensive contact with national and international partners to ensure knowledge developed at the University of Twente is translated effectively into economic activity, an aspect that is also referred to as commercial knowledge transfer.
As an entrepreneurial university, UT feel it is vitally important to support and promote entrepreneurship at every level, their spin-offs and student enterprises regularly develop into successful companies.
Innovation in Enschede
Enschede is known as a place of learning and innovation. It is home to Novel-T (a foundation whose mission is to develop an innovation and entrepreneurship-friendly climate in the Twente region), a strong start-up scene with business incubators and accelerators music and pop academies, an international school and an art school – as well as the University of Twente.
